Kathy A. SuprenantThe focus of this lab is to understand the how the cytoskeleton affects cell signaling and cell structure/function.  Specifically, we are interested in the function of the EMAP-like protein (ELP) family of microtubule-binding proteins and how these proteins affect the function of muscle cells and sensory neurons in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. We take an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that includes proteomics, genomics, cell biology, molecular genetics and advanced imaging techniques.
